Modeling & Simulation Program (Virtual Production | Dewey University)
MSP Taskforce Virtual Presentation with Metahuman Avatars and Unreal Engine
In this virtual presentation, the three members of Dewey University’s MSP Taskforce introduce themselves using personalized avatars created with Metahuman and Unreal Engine. Dr. Miriam L. Delgado, Prof. Yosanalis Torres, and Prof. Roberto Ledesma share a brief message, presenting the mission and goals of the Modeling and Simulation Program (MSP). This video showcases the innovative use of virtual technology to enhance awareness and demonstrates the potential for transforming education through immersive environments.
The Impact of Digital Innovation on the Workplace | Escape Laboral 2023
This short film, “The Impact of Digital Innovation on the Workplace,” is the result of a strategic collaboration between Dewey University, the MSP Taskforce from the VirtualEd-MES project (P116S220005), and attorney Jorge Pizarro from Pizarro & González, a law firm specializing in labor and employment law. The film raises awareness about the transformative effects of digitalization and technology in modern work environments, exploring both the benefits and the ethical and human challenges they present. Through realistic and fictional scenarios, the film showcases the integration of technologies like artificial intelligence, the metaverse, and automation into the workplace, highlighting the potential for labor conflicts, ethical dilemmas, and the blurring of lines between virtual and real interactions. By merging academic insight and legal expertise, the film serves as an educational platform promoting best practices for navigating the complexities of a digitized workforce.
Unreal Engine VR Preview | Thriving through Learning for enhancement of Anatomy 101 course
Breaking Boundaries in Anatomy Education: The Power of Simulation Technology” from Dewey University (Award #P031C160011 & P116S220005) explores the integration of immersive simulation technology in an Anatomy and Physiology course (ANAT101). It highlights the institution’s commitment to innovative teaching practices through virtual reality (VR) tools like the 3D Organon application. This white paper outlines the methodology, implementation, and positive student feedback regarding the use of VR to enhance learning outcomes, offering insights into the future of anatomy education using immersive strategies.
Unreal Engine Simulation | Modeled and Simulated Spaces for Anatomy Education
Take a tour through the virtual spaces and resources modeled by Dewey University, designed to enhance awareness and program development in Anatomy and Physiology education. This video provides a glimpse into the advanced simulation tools available for students and educators, showcasing the potential for creating immersive learning environments. As part of the Program Enhancement and Awareness efforts, this content is aligned with the research detailed in “Breaking Boundaries in Anatomy Education: The Power of Simulation Technology.
Unreal Engine Simulation | Interactive Anatomy Simulation with Prof. Ledesma
Join Prof. R. Ledesma as he navigates through the immersive virtual environment developed by Dewey University for the Anatomy and Physiology course (ANAT101). This interactive demonstration showcases how virtual reality enhances both teaching and learning in the field of anatomy. Highlighted in the document “Breaking Boundaries in Anatomy Education: The Power of Simulation Technology,” this video is part of the Virtual Lab Simulation initiative under the VirtualEd-MES project (Award #P031C160011 & P116S220005).
STEM Exploration Day en Juana Díaz
[Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico] – On Monday, May 15, 2023, hundreds of high school students from the south island of Puerto Rico had the opportunity to explore STEAM academic offers at Dewey University. The event, which was held at the university’s campus in Juana Díaz, was designed to help students learn more about STEAM fields and the opportunities available to them. The event featured a variety of activities, including:
• Tours of the university’s STEAM labs
• Presentations by STEAM faculty and students
• Hands-on workshops with emerging technologies as 3d printing, 3D Modeling, Simulation, Virtual Environments, among others.
• Opportunities to meet with admissions counselors
Brain video simulation (VR version preview)
The technical development of a brain simulation is justified due to its potential to revolutionize education and research across multiple disciplines. This simulation allows for a deeper visualization and understanding of cognitive and neurological processes, facilitating interactive and practical learning of complex concepts. Pedagogically, the brain simulation reinforces constructivist theory, enabling students to apply prior knowledge and build new ideas through simulated experiences in a safe, controlled environment. Additionally, the simulation can integrate multiple pedagogical theories, such as neuroeducation, which emphasizes the importance of multisensory learning. By engaging various areas of the brain, such as the frontal lobe, parietal lobe, and hippocampus, it enhances information retention and comprehension. Moreover, it helps manage cognitive load by breaking down complex tasks into manageable parts, optimizing the learning process and preventing mental overload.
